An ASIC miner at a low price with approx. 500 GH/s. Bitaxe miner for all BM1366AG! Everything about unpacking, setting up and mining.

The Bitaxe Miner, here in the blog the BM 1366AG used, is small, quiet and requires little power.

The miner model is based on the BM1366 ASIC chip of the S19XP antminer. According to Bitmain, this chip achieves an efficiency of 20 J/TH (joules per terahash). The Bitaxe Ultra is said to offer a hash performance of approx. 527 GH/s, which corresponds to a power output of 10.54 watts.

Unpacking

The relative section is unspectacular, one miner, one power supply unit and no housing (miners are stingy 😂)

Pool or solo mining? Or both possibilities ?

I have opted for the BM1366, the smallest miner. One reason is that the “Supra 401” is not available here in Asia at the moment.

Also that the BM1368PB, i.e. the “Supra 401”, is only specified with a hashrate of up to 700 GH/s. The value of xxx GH/s is not specified. The value of xxx GH/s is not specified and that makes me a bit suspicious again. At least this kind of information is important in Asia.

Both miners support solo mining as well as pool mining with the “sha-265” algorithm. In the video I will only show you pool mining using unMineable.

For solo mining, you only need to enter the corresponding pool and adjust the port.

Childhood diseases

Why unMineable of all things? Well, it says everywhere that Nicehash, for example, is also possible, but that doesn’t work. I have tested Nicehash, others not yet.

The update to the latest firmware also failed yesterday, the firmware file is just 1 MB in size.

Set up

Connecting with the miner

First of all, when you have switched on your Bitaxe, go to WLAN and establish a connection with “Bitaxe_” ( please vary).

In the video I show you how to find out the IP address. As a rule, you should now start the miner in the browser with

http://192.168.4.1

in your browser.

Setting up the WLAN

Under Wi-Fi SSID, enter the name of your WLAN network.

In Wi-Fi Password, enter the password for your WLAN.

Click on “Save” and then on “Restart”

Configure mining

Stratum URL, this is where you enter the pool URL where you want to mine. Note the details in the video!

Under Stratum Port, enter the port of the pool you want to use.

The Stratum User is your wallet address, possibly with details of the coin to be mined, the worker name and possibly also a referendum code. If you mean unMineable, you are welcome to use my reffend code 5u6k-68gt, I would be very happy about the small thank you 🙏

Stratum password is normally “x”. Otherwise you will receive this information from your pool operator.

You should not change the frequency and core voltage! There is a risk of damaging or destroying the hardware when transferring.

Click on “Spokes” and then on “Restart”, the miner will then immediately start working and begin mining.

Pi-Hole trip hazard

In my case, see video, the DNS resolution does not work. The problem can occur when using a Pi-Hole. In the video I show you how to set up Pi-Hole so that the DNS is resolved and the miner can connect the pool.

With the BM1366AG miner from Bitaxe, you can improve your yield/cost ratio considerably. Even if the miner breaks down, replacing it is more profitable than repairing damage to a gaming PC or notebook.

In Germany, you can get the device from classified ads and Amazon, which should also apply to the entire D-A-CH region.
