Crypto.com is out | No recommendation anymore

I no longer recommend or support Crypto com, also my personal business relationship with Crypto.com is hereby terminated.

What happened ?

I actually just sold some bitcoin, and wanted to withdraw the funds to my bank account. The withdrawal ran directly on error with the note that the system is in maintenance and I should try again later. The next day I got the same error message, with which I also turned to the support.

First I got the statement that the system would be in maintenance and I should be patient. When I asked when the payout would be possible, I got no statement. What made me suspicious.

Upon further inquiry, I was advised to withdraw the money using my Crypto.com credit card. I first had to point out to the clerk that the monthly limit is 200 € and that I would need years to pay out the money.

Then I had to tell the lady that when I switched the account to my place of residence in Asia, about 2 years ago, they told me that the credit card would be deactivated because there are no agreements. What is also OK, with a Verfügungsrahmen of 200 €/monthly. Furthermore, I have pointed out that I have complied with all legal requirements.

My right your right, no right is there for you.
Not even if you have done everything right, and at least do not have to go to prison.

The next suggestion of the support was that I send the crypto currencies to another exchange, and then sell and cash out. If I have no other exchange, then there are various platforms for direct sale with payout to the bank account 😳

HELLO is it still possible ?!?!

I do not trust a X Y Platform my Coins, in the hope that the money is also transferred to my bank account …[middle finger smiley].

My request to pass on the current case to the “Next Level Support”, i.e. the superior department, was also not granted.

OK, I thought, there is no other way, and I insisted on the immediate payment of my FIAT balance, which is listed under EUR at Crypto.com.

So now we come a bit further, I was suddenly explained that I can not pay out the currency EUR, because my “marketplace” so residence is not in the EURO zone.

Der EURO, eine Weltweite anerkannte Währung ! 👍
Die Zukunft wird er am Kneipentisch finden, wo um den letzten Cent gezockt wird 😁

I revealed to Support Babi that my daughter in Germany gets the same error message when she wants to do the process for me.

Now I was offered: We can change this for her, for this we need a proof of residence for Germany, which must also have my name on it ! OK, how are my daughter and a proof of residence in Germany now connected ? I did not grasp it at first. But with a German address the payout is possible. “I don’t care, illegal, I don’t give a shit” …. I am registered in “good old Germany” and a German residence means equal times against German statutory health insurance, pension insurance, tax office, etc. comes times equal not at all in the bag.

Back to my daughter, I repeated my daughter again, and that she gets the same error message at her place of residence in Germany. I added “Please answer in detail!”.

The support staff should be awarded the 5 * stars of a chef. I have real respect for people who can just talk around the hassle for what feels like an eternity until you interrupt them.

So I couldn’t get an exact statement, but between the lines it is clear. “If you do not live in the EU area, there is no EUROS for you 🥳”.

My Glorious Idea ! “If I am not allowed to use EURO currency ! Then please convert my account to THB, my local currency on the spot.” Well the answer was that the Thai currency THB is not supported by Crypto.com, and the conversion to THB is not possible.

I escalated this further, of course, because I want to get my money quickly. After the mention of a possible claim for damages, alone with the long-term visa fee eis a difference of 4,000,000 THB, the support staff became friendlier again, but answers in plain language I still did not get.

I then informed about the “duty of Crypto.com to inform” about such changes. Information I never received. I was not told when I emigrated that I could not directly dispose of my EUR assets. I was only told that the Crypto.com credit card would be deactivated.

To end the subject, because of hopelessness, after 3 hours. I set Crypto.com a deadline of 24 hours to fix my problem.

I was then flooded by the support with emails, such as: “I can always contact again”, “We have in mid-March in an email on system changes pointed out”, “Please understand that you can not dispose of EURO in their marketplace”, etc..

Well I have seen the email “from mid-March”. It refers to system work that was done from Saturday to Sunday night. Not what is related to my case now 6 months later. 6 months would be a really long maintenance period for a crypto broker.

While Crypto.com won’t be the only one to blame for the misery, we can certainly attribute part of it to regulations, controls and advancing restrictions on citizens. This is exactly how I imagine CDBCs (Central Bank Digital Currency), you want to buy something with your money but you are not allowed to 😁🖖.

For me, the Crypto.com thing is through, I can no longer recommend, and I will no longer use Crypto.com.
