Note: This is not tax advice! I do not deal with the detailed explanation of the Thai tax system. For that, you should contact a tax firm. However, I can say that filling out the tax form in Thailand is not difficult and you can do it yourself.

The employees of the Thai tax authorities are instructed to help foreigners with their tax returns. From my own experience of visiting the Thai tax office, I can say that the staff are eager and patient to ensure that everything is handled correctly.
In this post, I explain how to apply for and obtain a Thai tax ID in Pattaya. For me, the tax office in Jomtien is responsible, but depending on where you live, the Pattaya Na Kluea tax office could also be responsible – you probably know the jurisdiction.
Furthermore, I know from YouTube colleagues that there are definitely deficits in the countryside and that it is much more difficult to get a tax number there. Often the official doesn’t even know what you want, he doesn’t understand you or he doesn’t know what you’re talking about at all.

The procedure at Revenue Office 3, Pattaya, Jomtien
Go through the left entrance, then immediately right through the glass door. You will find the information desk on the left-hand side.
After you have presented your request there, you will receive a waiting number for counter 6.
If you take the right-hand entrance, you will find the information on the left-hand side.
Present your request there and you will receive a waiting number for counter 6.
The information is located at the corner desk with the light brown wood paneling.
Switch 6 is easy to recognize.
There is a display monitor in the middle of the room showing which number is called at which switch. Wait until your number appears.
Papers you need

- Your current visa
- The last entry stamps (proof that you have been in Thailand longer, the last one may not be enough)
- The certificate of residence (is normally stapled into the back of your passport)
Procedure
A form will be prepared for you, which you then have to complete with your surname, first name and telephone number.
You then sign the back of the form.
Once your tax ID card has been printed out, it will be stapled into your passport.

The personal data has been made unrecognizable in blue and marked on the right with the corresponding designation of what data would normally appear there.
