Here is a Pattaya update scooter tax, insurance, Technical certificate and costs for the year 2025. You can do it in about 60 minutes plus driving time.

If a vehicle has exceeded a certain age, you have to take your scooter for a technical inspection – the TÜV. You must then present this technical certificate for insurance and tax purposes.

In the video I show you a garage that will do the whole thing for just 60 baht. The most time-consuming part is the emissions test. The lights are also checked – with a device that rates the alignment of the lamps as good or bad. This device is placed somewhere in front of the scooter for measurement.

There are workshops everywhere in Pattaya and the surrounding area. You can recognize them by a yellow cogwheel – which I also show you in the video. In many of these garages you can not only get the technical certificate, but often also take care of the tax and insurance at the same time. However, this is not always the case.

Personally, I’m a bit of a Scotsman and prefer to do it myself on the spot. 😄
