Situation report after heat-related failure

Due to the continuing extreme weather conditions, with sustained temperatures of currently 45 degrees Celsius, there were technical problems.

But that’s Thailand, if lightning doesn’t strike or something else has to be repaired on the tower, then something else will be found. “Same same but different” 😁😂🙏

I wrote the following post on Facebook and also shared it on Instagram. Unfortunately, it was no longer possible on the homepage.

Overheating, unit damaged !

It’s not quite as dramatic as in the photo. But the persistent heat that has prevailed for the past week has been raging with 45 degrees Celsius.

The electronics of a 5 TB hard disk have smoked, and 2 of the main fans have blocked.

For three minutes a hell of a noise, a fascinating composition of grinding fans and alarm signal

Long story short, it is already being repaired, but the spare parts are still missing

The server and the WEB site are not available at the moment.

We are expecting temperatures of up to 50 degrees Celsius in Thailand next week. It is possible that the server / homepage will be switched off to prevent a repetition of such a scenario. So if something is not available here, please try again at a later time.

The fans have been replaced and the system is running again at 100% without data loss or other consequential damage.

For a hard disk I still need the electronics, which are delivered from China. However, as it is a hard disk that only the system uses, this has no effect 👍
