System restore point can save WINDOWS

A forgotten WINDOWS tool, system restore point can save WINDOWS. Simple, fast and effective!

1. Activate/create system restore point

  • Open system properties:
    • Press Windows + R, type sysdm.cpl and press Enter.
    • Switch to the “Computer protection” tab.
    • You can also search for System Restore Point in the taskbar, as in the video.
  • Activate protection (if not yet active)
    • Select the system hard disk (C:) and click on “Configure“.
    • Activate “Enable computer protection” and set the storage location.
    • Click on “OK“.
  • Create restore point
    • Click on “Create“, enter a description (e.g. “Before update”) and confirm with “Create“.

2. Restore system

  1. Start system restore:
    • Press Windows + R, type rstrui and press Enter.
    • You can also search for System Restore Point in the taskbar, as in the video.
  2. Select restore point
    • Select “Select another restore point“, then “Next“.
    • Select the desired restore point and click “Next“.
  3. Start recovery
    • Confirm with “Finish“. The PC is restarted and reset to the selected status.

3. Restore system when WINDOWS no longer starts

  1. Start WINDOWS in repair mode:
    • Switch on the PC and press and hold the [F 8] key. The process may have to be repeated several times before the repair mode is started.
    • Select Troubleshooting -> Advanced Options -> System Restore -> System Restore Point.
  2. Select restore point
    • Select “Select another restore point“, then “Next“.
    • Select the desired restore point and click “Next“.
  3. Start recovery
    • Confirm with “Finish“. The PC is restarted and reset to the selected status.

🔹 Note: Personal files are retained, but installed programs and settings may be lost.
